GOAL SETTING

I know, I know. The title of this blog post. GOAL SETTING. Here we are at the first of the year and ‘goal setting’ seems to be the trend for the first few weeks of the new year. Then as time goes by, those goals start to fade away. We become busy with life and we put those goals on the back burner only to get to the end of the year and realize that we haven’t accomplished those things that we set intention to at the first of the year. Then the cycle starts again, and we decide that this is the year that we are going to stick to it.



It’s okay, No need to beat yourself up. We are doing the best we know how, with what we have.


Here are my own struggles. When I get influenced by what other people are doing, I want to do it all. I read personal development books, watch videos, listened to the latest audio book or podcast, and I think I ‘should’ be doing the things that they talked about. I get inspired to set new goals, but I get overwhelmed with the huge list I created and wonder how am I ever going to execute these items.




Goals aren’t just a New Year thing, we should always be setting new goals. The easiest way is to get clear on your goals is to break them down into manageable action steps and hold yourself accountable!!!


You want to set goals that are going to get you closer toward what you want to be.

What do you want to achieve and Why is it important to you?

What’s my biggest priority right now!

Why do I want to achieve this goal?

Is this a should or a want?

Does this align with my values?

Will this really matter in 6 months from now?

Your goal needs to be measurable! You also need to be specific!


Some goals could be minor and some could be major. I suggest not over loading yourself with to many major goals. I would stick to 1 or 2.


How are you going to achieve your goal? If it is a BIG goal I would suggest breaking it up into small things to reach the big goal so that as you reach each one, you know you are getting closer to the main goal.

So you are excited about your new goal, however, the struggle Is following through with them. Are you motivated or clear about your goal???
